About the event
Our Service Design Workshop provides insight into Behavioural Science. Behavioural Science studies what influences individual behaviours, and contributes to improving the design of policies and services The workshop will be designed to explore policies and business cases that apply Behavioural Science to nudge people's behaviour, and exercise generating innovative ideas to motivate humans to behave accordingly.
This creative workshop for children aged 11 to 18 will be run by Behavioural Scientist, Technology consultant, and educator, Risa Sato.
What are the expected outcomes?
The workshops are aimed at developing transferrable skills in order to connect academia and the corporate environment, which includes but not limited to:
- Emotional intelligence and empathizing with others by understanding and managing one's own emotions and recognizing and responding to the emotions of others.
- Logical thinking by approaching issues and solving problems in a systematic, structured, and reasoned manner
- Thinking outside the box by addressing problems and generating ideas in unconventional and innovative ways
- Bouncing back from challenges and adapting to adversity by designing a tangible or conceptual model
Who should take this course?
This course is made to help young people aged 11-14 and 15-18 discover their potential capabilities and develop practical and transferable skills for their future aspirations. It will be beneficial if they desire to deepen their knowledge in the areas of Business, Marketing, Design, Information Technology, Psychology, or Neuroscience for further studies. In addition, the course also provides an insight into the corporate world in general that would be beneficial to all learners.
What will the participant gain on successful completion?
The participants will come away feeling inspired, motivated, and empowered with clear and usable knowledge and techniques to take their future aspirations forward. They will also gain the means to work with some initial inspiration and translate this into larger explorations of ideas, whilst strengthening interdisciplinary knowledge, critical thinking abilities, creative expression, self-reflection, and personal growth.
Who will be eligible for the event?
The workshops are for students aged 11 to 18. To provide age-appropriate materials and support, we set age eligibility to attend each workshop.

- 15 Jun:11-14 years old
No prior knowledge or experience is required.
Terms and conditions
- Tickets for participants under the age of 18 must be booked by a parent or guardian and advance online registration is essential. Bookings made on behalf of someone else still require advance online registration and it is your responsibility to share the registration form with that person. If we do not receive full registration information in advance of the event we cannot allow the participant to attend.
- We can offer a full refund up to 30 days in advance of the event's start date. Thereafter, we cannot offer a refund or transfer. Cancellations must be made in writing to info@designventure.org
- We reserve the right to alter the advertised content of events. In the unlikely event we need to cancel we will contact all ticket holders as soon as possible to rearrange or offer a full refund. We cannot reimburse or compensate for travel or other associated costs.
- On entry to the event, participants agree to behave appropriately; the Designventure Academy reserves the right to remove participants who behave inappropriately from events and request their immediate collection by parents/guardians.
